In August,
Gregg Malkary
joined iMinds as an Associate.
Gregg brings more than 15 years of operational experience working with leading edge and emerging companies. He has held a variety of senior management positions in strategic planning, business development, product marketing, sales and engineering with high profile companies that have focused on the enterprise and communications markets.
Gregg comes to iMinds from Exodus Communications where he was the Director of Strategic Planning. At Exodus, he was responsible for helping set Exodus’ strategic direction including identifying, evaluating and executing growth initiatives in the managed web-hosting marketplace. Prior to Exodus, Gregg was the Market Development Manager for on-demand solutions at Liberate Technologies. In this role, Malkary was responsible for identifying new market opportunities and developing key strategic alliances within the marketplace.
Gregg has held other senior management roles with Edify Corporation, SkyTel Communications, Silicon Graphics, Hewlett Packard and Arthur Andersen Consulting.
Gregg holds a Master of Science and Bachelor’s degree in computer science from Brown University. Gregg enjoys cycling, tennis, skiing and spending time with his wife Stephanie, and two sons, Noah and Daniel.
We are also pleased to introduce our new Executive Assistant, Elizabeth (Liz) Baumann. After more than 20 years in travel sales management, Liz transferred her organizational and team skills to the corporate world serving in administrative roles. She has experience in office management, customer service, law, human resources, local government and the not-for-profit sector. When not running the iMinds office, she is a wife, and mother to two boys ages 12 and 14.
Kevin Hartz, a Principal at iMinds Ventures, has decided to pursue his passion for start-ups. In August he left the firm to launch his new company, Mollyguard. Mollyguard enables small and medium businesses to collect fees online for various services. Mollyguard develops specialized payment applications on top of PayPal's popular transaction platform. More information is available at http://www.mollyguard.com.
Taking the current challenging fundraising climate to heart, Kevin plans to apply a heavy dose of sweat equity to establish the company before testing the financing trail. This is Kevin's second start-up and we wish him well.
It was with a great deal of regret that iMinds said goodbye to Executive Assistant September Madrid who relocated to Oregon.
